I just found this app & I really hope it helps w/ my schooling. I’m almost finished w/ my 3rd semester and this fall is when my clinicals start. Currently I’m in advanced assessment and since all we have to go on are simulated computer patients & the real ones I practice on, I’m feeling nervous that I’m not hearing or assessing things correctly. So any input woukd be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for joining us, it’s lovely to have you here!
It’s normal to feel anxious about your clinical technique and ability to recognise various different sounds etc. These things take time to develop, so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Even consultants, who’ve been doing this stuff for 30 years are sometimes unsure of what they’ve heard after auscultating something!
Something that might be useful from the auscultation point of view are these videos I put together:
We also have a wide selection of clinical skills guides here.
Good luck with your training!
